Soledad FFA was founded in 1999. We are located in the Salinas Valley, the "Salad Bowl of the World." We have over 400 members and offer a variety of pathways to partake in.

Meet our 2020-21 Chapter Officer Team!
Kelsey Richardson, Chapter President
What’s up Soledad FFA! My name is Kelsey Richardson & I am serving as your Chapter President this year!! Aside from that I am also serving as our South Coast Regional Vice President representing Monterey Bay! In my 4 years of FFA I have raised swine & beef for SVF and competed in various public speaking competitions. I have also attended lots of amazing conferences such as State Conference, MFE, ALA & many more! When I’m not in the blue jacket I love to go camping with my family, cuddle my dogs, spend time at the lake & go on adventures with friends! I am hyped to work alongside this team & make it an amazing year!

Karina Castro, Chapter Vice President
Hey Soledad FFA, my name is Karina Castro currently serving as your 2020-21 Chapter Vice President! I’m a junior and this is my 3rd year in FFA. Aside from FFA I’m involved in Upward Bound and Girls Inc. I love to spend time with my family, hangout at the beach, and be outdoors exploring new places. I’m extremely excited to create many great memories with my team and members. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy! 💛

Celeste Cruz, Chapter Secretary
Hey Soledad FFA, My name is Celeste Cruz and I am currently serving as your chapter secretary! I’m a junior and this is my 3rd year in FFA. Through FFA I have raised two goats, competed in competitions, and attended many conferences. These all have been so much fun and amazing experiences. Outside of FFA I love to paint on my own time, go on hikes, and be with my family and friends. Although this year is different from others I’m still excited for it and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish!

Uriel Ramirez, Chapter Treasurer
Hi Soledad FFA and friends! My name is Uriel Ramirez and I’m your 2020-21 chapter treasurer! Apart from that I’m also your sectional treasurer! Though I’ve only had two years in the FFA, I’ve experienced a lot through it. Raising sheep, attending conventions, participating in competitions, and more! Outside of FFA, I love getting involved within my community. Being in other extracurriculars such as our Soledad Youth Council and LinkCrew. Not only that but I love hanging out with friends, traveling, and the occasional good book. Although this year may look vastly different from previous ones, I’m still excited for everything it has in store for us :)

Perla Espinoza, Chapter Reporter
Hello Soledad FFA! I’m Perla Espinoza and I will be your 2020-21 chapter reporter! I’m extremely excited for this journey!! Some things about me are I love spending time with my friends, going to the beach, and being outside in general. I’m looking forward to see what is in store for this year!

Montserrat Zarate, Chapter Sentinel
Hey Soledad FFA, my name is Montserrat Zarate, currently serving as your Chapter Sentinel :) ! I’m a junior and this is my 3rd year in FFA. Through FFA I’ve had great opportunities such as raising swine, attending conferences, and participating in competitions. Outside of FFA I enjoy playing soccer, hanging out with friends, watching Netflix, and going to the beach. I am extremely excited to see what this year has in store for us!

Alice Perez, Chapter Historian
Hey Soledad FFA! My name is Alice Perez and I am currently serving as your Chapter Historian! I am a sophomore and this is my second year in FFA and my first year in office. Through FFA I have raised a goat, competed in the Opening and Closing competition, and attended the Greenhand Conference. Outside of FFA I love to go to the beach, watch the sunset, be with my family and friends, and play with my dogs. I am so excited for what the year has in store! This year will be a great year! 💙💛

Mrs. Graham!
Hello I am Mrs. Carminati-Graham many call me Carms. I have been at Soledad High School for 6 years. I grew up in Paso Robles and was an active 4H and FFA members showing lambs, horses and cattle. My father and I have a beef cattle and hay operation. I attended Cuesta Community College and then transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where I obtained my bachelor's in Agriculture Science and my teaching credential. I teach Ag Econ/Government, Ag Soil Chemistry, Ag Biology Honors and AP Environmental Science.

Mr. Sudberry
Hello Aztecs! My name is Mr. Sudberry, agricultural teacher and FFA Advisor here at Soledad High School. I grew up in Paso Robles where I was active in the FFA Program as a member of the welding competition team and raising market hogs. After High School and through college I have had multiple jobs working in industry as a welder, heavy equipment operator, construction worker, and ranch hand. I am a product of Cuesta Community College, followed by Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. My course offerings include Introductory and Advanced Agricultural Mechanics and Woodworking.

Mrs. Forbes
Hi all, my name is Mrs. Forbes! I was born and raised in Eureka, California. I have attended both Modesto Junior College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I have a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business and a Masters in Agricultural Education. My experience in agriculture includes sales, equipment operation, beef management and hay production. I currently teach Sustainable Ag Bio, Animal Science, Woodshop and Ag Communications. I am passionate about student leadership, personal development and all things agriculture. Can’t wait to meet you!

Ms. Reaber
Hello, Ms. Reaber here! I grew up in 4-H and FFA raising hogs and lambs in Templeton, California. I attended Oregon State University where I studied Agriculture Science, before moving back home to attend Cal Poly, SLO to receive my Masters in Agriculture Education. My agricultural passions include photography, floristry, sustainable practices and herd management. I currently teach Vet Science, Horticulture and Agriculture Science at Soledad High School.

Ag Communications
This course will focus on opportunities and development for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success. A
few of the topics to be covered include: purpose, origin, and operations of the FFA; Parliamentary law and its importance
to agriculture; Types of Supervised Agriculture Experience Programs; Record-keeping and management of projects;
Agriculture presentations & public speaking; Opportunities available through the FFA, and goal setting.
Agriscience Pathway
The Agriscience pathway helps students acquire a broad understanding of a variety of agricultural areas, develop an awareness of the many career opportunities in agriculture, participate in occupationally relevant experiences, and work cooperatively with a group to develop and expand leadership abilities. Students study California agriculture, agricultural business, agricultural technologies, natural resources, animal, and plant and soil science.
COURSES INCLUDE: INTRO TO AGRISCIENCE, ADVANCED AGRISCIENCE, AG BIO (HONORS), AG SOIL CHEMISTRY, AP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
Animal/Vet Science Pathway
In the Animal Science pathway, students study large, small, and specialty animals. Students explore the necessary elements, such as diet, genetics, habitat, and behavior, to create humane, ecologically, and economically sustainable animal production systems. The pathway includes the study of animal anatomy and physiology, nutrition, reproduction, genetics, health and welfare, animal production, technology, and the management and processing of animal products and by-products.
COURSES INCLUDE: ANIMAL SCIENCE, VET SCIENCE
Ag. Mechanics
The Agricultural Mechanics Pathway prepares students for careers related to the construction, operation, and mechanics of equipment used by the agricultural industry. The classes will cover the woodworking, electrical systems, plumbing, and cold metal, concrete, and welding technology.
COURSES INCLUDE: INTRO TO AG MECHANICS, ADVANCED AG MECHANICS, WOODSHOP
Horticulture
The Horticulture Pathway students will learn biological and scientific principles to improve our
quality of life and ensure the sustainability of our environment. Hands-on activities in the outdoor
study laboratory with the help improve analytical thinking, problem solving, and communication
skills.
